One School Board Post Is Contested

Three people are vying for the District One Board of Education seat, but the incumbents in Districts Three and Five will serve another four-year term without opposition.

District One incumbent Stacey Standifer faces challenges from Sharon Campbell and Bobby Norris.
The News reported last week that Ray Blankenship was challenging Joy Wild for the District 5 seat.

However, upon further examination it was determined that Mr. Blankenship did not live in District 5, and therefore could not run for that seat.

Joel Gaston, the District 3 incumbent, also has no challengers.

The non-partisan election will be held in November.
