Financial Aid Meeting Set

Jasper County High School will host a financial aid meeting for parents of high school seniors on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in the media center.

Vickie Austin with the Georgia Student Finance Commission/GAcollege411 will speak with parents about the financial aid process. She will assist in completing federal financial aid forms and provide information about grants and loans.

Applications and current information about HOPE grants/scholarships and other related monies will be available at the meeting. The FAFSA must be completed for a student to receive HOPE or parents must complete a HOPE alternate form for the school the student intends to attend if the parent wishes not to complete the FAFSA.

All parents are encouraged to attend to find out more about the financial aid process.

The guidance office and GO Center will be open prior to the meeting from 6-7 p.m. for interested parents to use the Georgia Career Information System and GAcol-lege411 to research scholarships and schools. FBLA members will be on hand to help with the GCIS program.
