Paden Davis Excels in Shooting
Last Saturday, May 13, the Georgia 4-H held their annual trap shooting tournament at the Rock Eagle 4-H center in Putnam County.
Some 884 shooters participated in the contest to see who was the top shot in the state. To qualify to shoot in the state tournament a senior qualification score of 20 out of 25 had to be attained at the district tournament.
Blake West and Paden Davis were the only two shooters from the Jasper County team to earn a birth. Blake West shot a good score but
was not able to advance to the next round. Paden Davis scored a perfect 25 out of 25 which earned him the right along with 20 other shooters to advance to the next round to compete for the distinction of being the best shot by shooting five pairs of targets (doubles) in a shoot off.
The first round ended with Paden hitting 9 out of 10 targets. Only two other shooters were able to match his score. The three shot another round.This time Paden shot 6 out of 10. Only one other shooter could match this score.

Mr. Davis hopes to join the Olympic Development team next year. A senior at Jasper County High School, Paden is the son of Terry and Marlene Davis.
