Crazy Weather
As I guess you all have noticed, we experienced at tempting taste of Spring last weekend with the temperature being in the low-mid 70’s.
I was in heaven…at least for two days. Monday morning I was back at the office in long sleeves and pants, my coat accompanying me, as it seemed to get colder as the day went on.
And today, as I write this, I sit in our cement floor building fully clothed with hoodie, jeans, and long sleeve shirt underneath.
As I began to complain about the weather, I had a change of thought. If you have been reading this column, you know that I am doing everything in my power to be more positive this year so rather then missing the warm and scowling at the cold, I am simply grateful that I can look forward to the warmer weather coming up in the next few months.
There will be a time, I’m sure in the near future that I will be wishing for these cooler days when the Georgia sun is beating down in the heart of Summer.
I’ll want that campfire in the back yard back, the one that functions for heat but more importantly is used for gathering neighbors for good times full of laughs.
But for now, I’ll sit here, and not complain about being colder, and simply add a layer of clothes. That is the key to being warm, layering.
I will call my friend in Minnesota and listen to her laugh when I tell her that 60 is cold.
She always says “look Georgia girl, at 60 we have on shorts and T-shirts,” funny to think of her and her kids playing in summer clothes, when I am fully dressed and covered in a blanket on my couch. (By the way, did I mention that my 110+ year old house is cold?)
It is. And my power bill is still high with my thermostat set on 58…ugh! Sorry.
I guess I will use this here internet to surf the web. I’ll look at warmer places in hopes of my mental state being warmed.
I will still be positive though, and look at the brighter side, Georgia may have the craziest weather, but I’ll take it over the alternative anyday .
