Benefit Barbecue Set for Cummings Family

Scott and DeAnn Cummings of Monticello were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Newton County on April 30, and were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

The two remained there for two weeks while undergoing surgeries.

They are both currently unable to work. At present, doctors do not know when Mr. Cummings will be able to work again.

Everyone has been wonderful to them and they are more than grateful for the food and helpful donations during the past weeks!

As a gesture of love, friends are holding a benefit barbecue and bake sale during the Market Festival on the Square, Saturday, June 23.

Plates will be $5 each, and will include a barbecue sandwich, chips and a drink.

Anyone who is interested in donating food for the bake sale or pre-ordering a plate for the barbecue, is asked to contact Allison Koprucu at 404-803-3711 or Kurt Koprucu “Chewy” at 404-803-3712 or e-mail chewyvsu60@gmail.com.

All of the proceeds will go to Scott and DeAnn Cummings to help alleviate some of their financial burdens during this time.

Mr. Koprucu asked, “Please keep this family in your prayers. The journey is a long and hard one, but God’s grace brings joy in the journey. Come and share in the blessing of giving!”
