Take Time This Holiday Season

As the holiday season is officially upon us (although stores have had Christmas music playing long before your Thanksgiving turkey had been bought) I find that it is important to use this time, and the added time off to refresh and connect with friends and family, and those who are important in your life.

There are often times when the “hustle and bustle” of the holiday season gets so overwhelming that you forget that utmost important person YOU.

This is the season to be Merry. Even Scrooge’s need to get in the spirit.

To take time out for yourself there are several things that you can do that are free or have a minimal cost.

Here it is not even the first of December, and I find myself looking forward to driving around and looking at the early Christmas decorations.

It seems to me that if there are this many, of which there seem to be more this year already around town than were out last year, up so earl—I can only imagine what the rest of the month has in store.

Radio stations have selections of Christmas music playing randomly and stations like 104.7 The Fish and 98.5 have Christmas music all the time. So take some time out, take the long way home and tune into one of these stations and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.

Also, many spas and self pampering stores are offering specials for the season. Some offer buy one, get one so you can get a massage, facial or nutrition appointment for a gift and treat yourself too!

Those of you who love kids, this is a great time to teach your kids, Godchildren (I love mine!), Mentees (I love Summer too!), and others about your traditions, or build new traditions around your family. Remember that the simplest gesture of kindness and attention goes a lot farther than putting them in front of the TV.

Happy Christmas Season!
