Students Compete on High-Q

QUIZ BOWL TEAM COMPETE ON HIGH-Q

Jasper County High School was selected to field a team in WSB-TV’s High-Q quiz competition last Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Seniors Samantha Tally, Jade Massey and Ben Hart and junior Taylor Edwards competed against a team from Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael, a high school for boys in Atlanta.

In its 28th season, WSB-TV’s High-Q is hosted by news anchor John Bachman. In his absence, chief meteorologist Glenn Burns steps up to the podium.

The competition will air on December 29.

The Jasper County Quiz Bowl Team is coached by math teacher Christie McAlum. Also accompanying the students on the trip to the news studio in downtown Atlanta was principal Robyn Mullis and science teacher Tyson Harty.

Additional quiz team members who attended included Tristan Armstrong, Gracie Cummings and Zeb O’Kelley.

Two students—Jessie Murphy and Bree Chambers—also served as the cheering section.
