Janell Wild Is Retired

Janell Wild was honored with a retirement reception this week. Mrs. Wild retired from Hamilton State Bank after 42 years of service to the local branch.
During her tenure, her employer’s address was always 208 East Greene Street but the branch name changed seven times. She saw a career of banking evolve from filing checks manually to electronic images online and computers replacing typewriters.
Billy Nalls hired Mrs. Wild in June 1973 as a bank teller with Farmers National Bank. She has worked in all areas of the bank including customer service, business development, operations, loan collateral / documentation and consumer lender. She spent the majority of her career as a loan officer serving over 600 customers during her longevity in the lending arena. Mrs. Wild was promoted to Vice President in 1983 and most recently served the local branch as Branch Manager. McIntosh State Bank recognized her as Employee of the Year in 2002.
Mrs. Wild commented that her heart has always driven her toward community banking which is known for its concentration on helping the community prosper and meeting individual needs. With this drive, she always exceeded her goals as is evident in the volume of loan production in the retail sector of the bank in 2015.
Community and church are very important to Mrs. Wild. She is an active member of Monticello Baptist Church where she serves on the Stewardship Committee, sings in the choir, renovation committee member and is outreach leader of her Sunday School class. Mrs. Wild was a long time member and officer of the Monticello Woman’s Club and spent numerous years working with all elections and the absentee ballots for all voting districts. Through her leadership, the county set records in 1999 and 2001 with fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In 2000, she was a member of the courthouse renovation committee, Downtown Development Authority secretary, and she has also enjoyed serving the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club.
The local staff shared the training that Janell provided was invaluable and she assisted in their personal career growth. She served as a trainer outside the branch walls that stretched as far as Cartersville, Douglasville and Braselton. She was highly respected within the Hamilton State Bank footprint and will be missed for the banking knowledge and training she provided.
Mrs. Wild thanks her many customers for allowing her to serve them over the 42 years and that God has blessed her with the gift of service. To Jasper County, she thanks the residents for allowing her to serve in numerous roles that together made us a better community.
“Janell has a love for helping people no matter their social economic status and will be missed by her customers, the local staff and the Hamilton State Bank team.” District Sales Manager and friend, Kim McMichael said. “She is a competitor and through her drive was able to reach and surpass many goals during her banking career. She has a strong work ethic and a passion to be creative in dealing with customer’s financial situations.”
Mrs. Wild and her husband Tony live in northern Jasper County. Mr. Wild is retired from the US Forest Service and they are looking forward to some travel but immediate needs are taking care and spending time with their mothers and close friends. Mrs. Wild has made a difference in so many lives in Jasper County and beyond and now it is time for her to enjoy what so many of us look forward to during our careers – retirement!!
