‘Keep Going – A New Season Awaits’
Before you read this, let me be very clear…I am a Georgia Bulldog fan for life! I also am an Atlanta Falcons fan and have been so all of my life!
Now, with that caveat out of the way, let me share something. A couple of days ago, my co-worker came into the office with obvious frustration on his face. He’s a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He has Cowboys paraphernalia all over his desk. He has rooted for the Cowboys during the Emmitt Smith era and even during the Herschel Walker era. But a few days ago, Dallas released its best wide receiver, Dez Bryant. Dez was recruited by the Cowboys and played for eight seasons with the team.
It bothered my co-worker and his demeanor was different all day long. So the one thing (and only thing) that we have in common when it comes to the NFL is that we both have been fans of our teams…for life.
Listen, all of us will have moments and days when the seasons of our lives are not that great. We will have days when everything is up and great, and we will have days when we don’t know if we are coming or going.
Challenges, issues, problems and hardships are just ingredients in the mixing bowl of life. But when tough days come, you have to remember that you STILL have not walked into every promise that God has over your life.
Remember Jeremiah 29:11…God has plans for your life. Until every single dream you have comes true, keep living. Until every plan God has for you is manifested, keep smiling. Until you reach every goal you have, keep moving forward. Don’t turn back…keep going.
Let me finish with this. I remember riding on Hwy. 11 one day with my grandfather on the way back from Macon. It was raining seriously, but my grandfather just slowed down to a creeping pace, but he never stopped the vehicle. Cars were pulling over, blinking their flashing lights, but we kept creeping along.
Eventually, we came out of the rain, and when I looked in the side mirror, all of those cars were still in the storm waiting and sitting. Keep going, don’t stop because of your storm. It will pass and a new season…brighter day will be yours!
Keep Going, A New Season Awaits!
