Do It Again

Luke 5:4

I remember preaching at New Life Bible Church in Fayetteville, NC. In the sermon, I shared the biblical story of Jesus sitting in the boat teaching the people. Before he gets into the boat, he finds a few disciples cleaning their nets.

They had been out fishing all night the night before and caught nothing. Not a brim, not a spot, not one fish. Jesus tells them to let down their nets and get ready for a major catch. Peter, one of the fishermen, was so frustrated and overtaken by disappointment, that the first thing he did was inform Jesus of their lack of success. He tells Jesus the obvious, we’ve caught nothing. But then he says, “anyway…because you commanded it, we will do it.”

They get in the ship…they let down their nets…and they begin to bring in so many fish that their nets begin to break. The weight of the full nets begin to sink their ship. They call for partners to help them with the catch!

They go from nothing to something spectacular with just one move of faith. In spite of the lack of success and in spite of what it looks like in the physical, natural or carnal, get back out there and do it again. If what you see doesn’t match what God said, wait for the provision that accompanies the vision.

God will NEVER give you a vision with no supplemental provision. Things may not match. If the pieces were always there, then why would we need faith? We wouldn’t even have a need for God if we could figure it all out.

Get out there and do it again. Have enough faith to simply obey. Obedience and exercising faith is the only thing that gets God’s attention and moves us from one level to the next. DO IT AGAIN!

PRAYER OF THE DAY:

“Dear Lord, give me a focus on your vision for my life. I don’t want to see the negative before I see the positive. My life is in your hands. Teach me to know your will and obey it. I commit my whole heart to fight off fear and anxiety, as I meet the challenges ahead and go forward.

In Jesus’ Name…I win and Amen!”
