‘Love Unleashed’ Program Benefits Senior Citizens

New Rocky Creek Baptist Church partnered with the Jasper County Senior Center and Overview to activate their “Love Unleashed” project recently.
The project included volunteering to build more accessible ramps for the local Senior Center members who are in their 90s so that they “age in place” longer. Overview provided the materials for the project and the labor was provided by church members of New Rocky Creek.
Mrs. Ollie Robinson received the first ramp after turning 95. In September, to celebrate Mrs. Roberta Greene’s 92nd birthday they built a ramp (shown above). Mrs. Greene (right, center)is joined by some gracious workers who helped to complete her project (left to right) Justin Owens, Ralph Gunn, Kenneth Mason, Sr. and Gary Hipps. Others that aided with her ramp project but are not pictured include Daniel Stephenson, Brent West, and Bud Greenway.
Director of the Senior Center Tracy Norton, stated “these kindnesses are so appreciated by all and indicates we have a very caring community.”
Director of Missions at New Rocky Creek Katie Caron said “we have many other outreach efforts planned to reach those who need it most and to show the love of God.”
