Own Your Brand
Psalm 139:14
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (KJV)
My grandmother is notorious for having her children and grandchildren call her for a recipe. If it is a dish that she is known for (i.e. peach cobbler, chicken and dumplings, blackberry….Ok making you hungry now), she NEVER provides all of the ingredients.
Case in point, I called home one year around Thanksgiving to get a recipe. She said, “let me see.” She listed off all of the ingredients, and told me what to do. Every question I had was answered with, “you will know it once you taste it.” I followed her instructions, but it still didn’t match her dish….something was still obviously missing.
She gave me the 90 percent answer. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The other 10 percent belongs to her. It is what makes her dish pop. It’s what makes her the GOAT. It’s what makes her dish stand out. I should never want her to concede and hand over to me or anyone else the true identity of her greatness. That isn’t fair…she earned that and it is rightfully hers to keep.
And the same applies to you as you read this article. Own your brand. Do what you do with excellence and never be intimidated by someone else’s jealousy. Having haters only proves that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and the thing that makes you unique has been tested but can’t be duplicated. Never look at what someone else has and change what you do to be like them. I hope you’re not offended by this broken English but all I’m saying is: DO YOU!
PRAYER OF THE DAY:
“Dear Lord thank you for the gift you have placed in me. Thank you for making me the way that you did and for accepting me just as I am, flaws and all. I commit to owning what you have created within me and pushing until I possess what you have commanded over my life.
In Jesus’ Name…Amen!”
