Second Graders Visit Hard Labor Creek
Second grade students from Jasper County Primary School (JCPS) explored the outdoors at Hard Labor Creek State Park. Park Ranger David Guzman taught students about the metamorphosis of insects and life cycles of butterflies using noodles.
Sharon McCullough from Monarchs Across Georgia set up a sensory garden and taught about the importance of pollinators. Students also participated in a life cycle skit that included costumes and props. One of the main highlights on the trip was mini golf. Several students celebrated landing a hole in one. The day was full of learning and smiles. Elizabeth Proctor, the JCPS STEM teacher arranged this educational trip for the second grade students.
