‘Here Comes Peter Cottontail’

We all remember this song since I think it is the only song written about the famous Easter bunny, Peter Cottontail. The song was composed in 1949.

This year weather is predicted to be warm, no rain, on Easter Sunday. Many years we have experienced a sudden drop in temperature. Over our spring clothing we had to wear a heavy coat.

We are having a beautiful spring with all the Earth blooming.

My mother had quite an interesting idea about Easter. Most children leave their Easter baskets on the dining room table. Me and my siblings left our baskets on the table, but the next morning we had to hunt where the bunny had left our baskets. Most of the time she would leave hints for us. One of the extreme place she (I mean the bunny) left our baskets was on the hood of the car in the driveway.

I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps when my stepson was growing up. On Easter I left a trail of small candy eggs to the Easter basket. It was a good idea, but our dog ate all the candy eggs. The dog lived. Good lesson for me, the next year I (the Easter Bunny), just left some notes in particular places to lead him to the Easter basket which was in the dryer. What fun.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter.
