Surviving Storms

Hopefully we dodged the bullet from our last round of storms. It sure was loud and the strong wind was threating.

Channel 2 followed the storm for hours. According to them Jasper County is part of metro Atlanta.

Be prepared for future bad weather. Number one, find your safe place. Experts recommend finding a place with two walls between you and the outside and no windows—like a closet or storage room. Make a survival kit for your safe room. You need to protect your body, have a blanket or tarp, and if you can acquire a helmet even better.

Since it could take first responders a while to get to the scene for the search, make sure your cellphone is charged. Good to have a gallon of clean water, a copy of your prescriptions. Take time to think of items you may need.

Since we have the advantage of having several television channels that cover the weather, we will have time to prepare.
