National Poppy Poster Contest Set

A National Poppy Poster Contest is being sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 110 in Monticello from February 22 through March 15, 2025.

The contest classes include Class I: Grades 2&3, Class II: Grades 4 &5, Class III: Grades 6 &7, Class IV: Grades 8 &9; Class V: Grades 10 and 11, Class VI: Grade 12, and Class VII:students with special needs defined as those in special education classes, or a child identified as having a disability, but not in a special education class due to lack of facilities; identification contingent upon discretion of school officials.

Grade levels from 2nd to 12th grade are divided into seven classes (listed above) with one additional class for “Best Overall” in each division. One award in each of the eight classes will be presented in each division. Winners will receive $50 and a $50 donation in the student’s name will be made to the Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship fund.

A copy of the rules along with the required 11” x 17” poster board can be picked up at the following locations. The Chamber of Commerce 119 W Washington Street, Monticello, Georgia, Jasper County Library, 319 E Greene Street, Monticello, Georgia and Squared Away Construction, 214 Southern Ave, Monticello, Georgia during normal business hours.
