JCPS Hosts Annual Book Character Parade

Jasper County Primary School held its annual book character parade last month. Parents and the community were invited to attend the parade. A large number of visitors were on campus to see the parade of book characters coming to life. Jasper County PreK students also participated in the event. The creativity, imagination and participation with creating these book characters were amazing! JCPS appreciates the parents and family members who help with these book characters and sharing the love of reading with their families! It was an event that all staff, students, and visitors enjoyed.

Kindergarten book character parade winners (top photo) include Noah Abadie, Skylar Alexander, Haisley Ewing, Marley Patton, Sevyn Smith, Tyler Sewell, Kia Jones.

First grade book character parade winners (second photo) include Ivie Viars, Moana Cosby, Ella Comer, Brienna Gauntt, Conor McMahon.

First grade class winner for an overall theme (third photo) were teachers Mandi Allen and Regina Jackson as Mario Brothers with Ace Dudley, Kas’shus Tucker, Juan Martinez, Alexander Wingert, Dallas McGowan, Josue Leon-Perez, Kamuel Whidby.

Second grade book character winners (fourth photo) include Lilee Denny, Aria Matthews, Carolanne Floody, Tripp Brown, Andi Stacey.

Art teacher Mia Jenkins (bottom, left) was the teacher winner and the Assistant Principal Dr. Shelley Tingler and Principal Pam Edge (bottom, right) shared in the fun.
