A Nation Lowers Their Head

Even though it has been 61 years ago tomorrow. I still remember the gut feeling I had upon learning of President John Kennedy’s assassination that day.

Today, schools would send for counselors for the students. Then, they loaded us on our school buses and we were sent home.

There was never an explanation, a President killed and his assassin killed all in 48 hours and all televised. Yes, there was a investigation, but never enough, so there is still a bad test for 61 years.

If you lived through the 60’s, you can probably lived through anything. Life was not easy.

As we celebrate upcoming holidays, remember to be thankful for our many blessings and how we got them and keep them. If you should have even a brief encounter with military and/or law enforcement, let them know you appreciate them.
