Clark County property owners will soon find their County Tax Statements in their mail. There are a few things I would like to point out as you look at the new format:
· If you have a Merchant’s License, we are asking you to write a separate check for that. Our Merchant’s License is still being ran on our old program this year. We therefore need to have separate payments to process the payments.
· If your Real Estate is in a Drainage District, the Tax charged for that Drainage District will be shown on the Real Estate bill for that parcel. The two Taxes will be totaled and are payable at the same time.
· If you have made Pre-payments throughout the year to be applied to the 2024 Real Estate Taxes, please note that the total amount pre-paid is shown as “Payments” and deducted from the “Base Tax”. As always, please check the “Payments” amount to be sure that everything you paid ahead is included.
· There is a place at the bottom of each statement to cut and return the smaller portion with the payment. We are requesting that this be done. If you pay in person, please bring the statements with you. We do not want anyone to have to pay late fees for something that is missing, (a newly purchased property, a vehicle that was overlooked on the assessment sheet etc), so please check your statements carefully. It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to pay taxes on the property for which they are responsible. We are not allowed to waive those fees.
If you have any questions about your statements, please call the Collector’s Office at 660-727-3787.
