Bible Inspiration

The Bible, although it was penned by man is not a combination of human and Divine. That would not fit the nature of true inspiration. While God used men to physically record His records and events, their writings were always under His oversight. (II Peter 1:20-21)
The Bible says all scripture was given by “inspiration of God (II Timothy 3:16-17). “Inspiration of God” comes from Greek words meaning “God breathed.” God put into men what was to be written.
First of all, the Bible is not one book, it is a collection of 66 books in several categories such as prophecy, poetry, history, and law.
Secondly, the books were written by some 40 different men from different cultural backgrounds such as shepherds, fishermen, and kings.
Third, the 66 books were written over a 1,500 year span which means that many of the writers never knew one another and therefore could not have worked together.
Fourth, the books were authored in three different languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek on two different continents; Asia and Europe. This shows the different historical and cultural circumstances under which they were written.
Fifth, the books are in harmony with a common message: the creation, the fall of man, and man’s redemption. The books are arranged in trilogy, or three part form: 1.) “Someone Is Coming!” (Genesis to Malachi), 2.) “Someone Is Here!” (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and 3.) “Someone Is Coming Again!” (Acts to Revelation)
Go to all the libraries in the world and find 66 books written over the centuries by 40 authors, in three languages on two continents, all sharing a common message, that compare to the uniqueness of the Bible books. Such a collection has never been done before and will never be done again.
The existence of the Bible itself is evidence of the Inspiration of God…
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:16-17)
If the Bible is what it claims to be, we should be able to find evidence of that inspiration. If there is none then the Bible is not true.
Not only is the Bible’s mere existence evidence alone of God’s existence, it is filled with statements that only a Creator God would know long before man, science, even slightly suspected.
Probably the most most profound is Genesis 1:9…
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. (Genesis 1:9)
Science only began to suspect in the last 150 years that at one time all land was a super continent. The Bible knew it some 5,000 years before science even became aware of the possibility. Science calls it a theory, “Plate Tectonics.” They refer to it as a theory because they didn’t see it happen even though they are convinced it happened.
Make no mistake, there is a God, the evidence is overwhelming and undeniable.
