Barbie Movie Debut

This coming Wednesday apparently the most anticipated movie of the century from all the promo-ads and star visits to numerous talk show couches will prove, “Barbie” the movie will be the hit of the century. Forget Star Wars, Avatar, and Top Guns.

According to reliable sources, the basic movie attendee is teen boys. This movie should put that factoid to question.

Made for a mere $100 million, causing a pink paint shortage, lines of Barbie fans will flock to the theatres Thursday. We will see.

Barbie arrived in 1959 and cost $3 for purchase. My sisters who are considerably younger than I had Barbie dolls. If only they had kept them safely in the original containers, the dolls would be worth a lot of $$$. Instead they spent a great amount of time trying to keep the high heels on the Barbie foot, eventually Barbie became shoeless

I have read quite a bit about this movie and seen some scenes from said. I was not aware Barbie could talk, but I am sure it will be some fascinating dialog.

Children, mothers and grandmothers will want to attend. According to previews it is a very fast paced colorful movie so children will think it is a cartoon although the stars are in their 30-40 year old range.

Barbie may be a superficial subject, she has had a staying power and popularity that most famous folks would love to have. Thought provoking? Maybe.

But probably just doesn’t cause any thought and we can just fall into the Barbie world for a few minutes before it is back to reality. Enjoy.
