Easter Memories

Easter is one of those holidays that we remember fondly. As children, waking up early, finding the basket filled with candy eggs, chocolate bunnies, and maybe peeps and a stuffed bunny.

As adults, we appreciate Easter Sunday with the flowers, beautiful songs from the choir, and seeing friends and family as they celebrate the day with special food.

We had an unusual way to start our Easter morning. My mother would decorate and fill our Easter baskets, but you never knew where to find them. One year my mother, aka the Easter bunny, left our baskets on the hood of our car.

Everyone knows Easter bunnies would have a tough time coming down the chimney like Santa. Many years she would leave a trail of candy eggs from our beds to the baskets. One year we woke up early, searched all over for our baskets since the candy trails were missing. Soon we found the candy thief, our dog, Tiny. Tiny suffered quite a bit from those eggs and wrappers, but she was a tough puppy.

Flowers, grasses and trees are blooming making for our famous pollen covering everything and causing lots of sinus problems. Achoo! We have to suffer to get to see our beautiful spring.

Have wonderful Easter. “Easter hats for one and all, Easter bunny makes a call, Happy Easter always brings, Such a lot of pleasant things.”
