Happy Easter
Easter is considered a moveable event which occurs on the Sunday after first full moon of Spring. This full moon is called Paschal Full Moon, Paschal meaning Passover.
This year, Passover started at sundown on March 27th, the night of the full Paschal moon and runs through April 4th, Easter Sunday. Passover is an observance that commemorates the exodus of Israelites from Egypt from slavery to freedom.
Of all the holidays or observances we celebrate, Easter is the most convoluted of different dates, moon cycles, Christian and Jewish history.
Easter is also rebirth of our Earth, new clothes, egg hunts, religious ceremonies. As a child, I questioned Santa coming down a chimney when we didn’t have one, but more how the Easter bunny brought us a basket full of goodies.
Regardless, now is a great time of the year, beautiful flowers, lawns greening. Only one thing, look around you, it’s the pollen.
Happy Easter Monticello.
