Nice Weather

Aren’t we the lucky ducks? Mother Nature liked us for a change. If you watched the weather broadcasts for the past week, the weatherman kept showing a drawing of the way the Polar Vortex swooped down very close to us, but rained, sleeted, and snowed on most states out West and North.

One scientist described what happened. He described this unusual weather pattern like a bunch of animals in a chain-linked field. Most of the time, the animals stay inside the chain-linked field, but if a whole bunch of the animals pushed on the fence at the same time, the fence would come down. There it is simply.

Usually the vortex stays confined inside a certain area, but some changes in the atmosphere, low and high pressures, a shift in the jet stream wind can cause the extreme weather to drift South. Growing up, weather is not an issue. Have you ever seen a kid running barefoot in the rain or never thinking if a coat was needed when it is cold outside? Each afternoon, my parents would sit down to watch the nightly news. During the news, we could talk and talk and run back and forth, but be forewarned, don’t move or utter a word during the weather report.
