With a New Heart
Every person needs a new heart. Just look around you. How many parents have intentionally trained their children to lie or encourage them to steal from another child? To yell or hit another child? Very few if any I am included in here too. Why? Because of our hearts which started out self-seeking and self-centered.
According to the word of God, you-me were born with a sinful nature. Ps 15:5. Surely I was sinful at birth. Sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Jeremiah 17:9 adds The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. But the good news is that God said,”I will give you a new heart and a new spirit in you.”
Our need is very similar to the need of someone who has a diseased heart and whose only hope for life is a heart transplant.
But God can and will if we let him take our “diseased” heart and replace it with a new one.
Once you have your-our new heart, it becomes capable of perfect love, because a changed heart makes a changed life. You-we-me can love the unlovable, be kind to the unkind, forgive the unforgiveable…all because we have a new heart—we have God’s heart.
Isaiah 43:18 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past, see I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 65:17 Behold, I will create new heavens and one new earth. The former things will not be remembered nor will they come to mind.
Ps. 90:10 Seventy years are given to us! Some may even reach eighty. But even the best of these years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear and we are gone.
11Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.
14Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love. So we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
15Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace the evil years with good one.
Let us see your miracles again; let our children see your glory at work.
And may the Lord our God show us it is approval and make our efforts successful—yes, our efforts successful!
Ps. 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the most high will find rest in the shadow of the almighty.
2This I declare of the Lord; He alone is my refuge, my place of safety, He is my God, and I am trusting Him. For He will rescue me-you-us from every trap, and protect us from the fatal plague. Read v 4, 5, 6.
7Though a thousand fall at your my our side though ten thousand are dying around you-me-us.
8But you will see it with your eyes; you-me-us will see how the wicked are punished. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your, 10 No evil will conquer you;
No plague will come near your dwelling. For He orders His angels to protect you-us-me wherever we go.
They will hold us with their hands to keep us from striking your foot on a stone. Read vs. 13, 14, 15, 16.
I know God has given us down time, to see what the schools are saying about our children so parents enjoy your harvest and read Proverbs 13:24-25-Proverbs will help us all. Proverbs 6:2-35.
