Visiting Writer Visits Today
Jamieson Ridenhour is the next visitor in the Hurricane Visiting Writer Series.
He will be at Jasper County High School all day Friday, Nov. 15, and then that evening at 6:30 p.m. he will headline a public event at the Jasper County Courthouse in the “My Cousin Vinny” courtroom.
This event is free and open to the public and will also feature JCHS students reading from their work. The evening will begin with JCHS film student work—-their reinterpretations of two famous movie scenes.
Dr. Ridenhour teaches at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. He considers himself a horror writer, a playwright, a scholar, and an audiodrama producer (he has the very successful horror podcast Palimpsest), but he also directs plays and has directed two short films, and he plays bass in his son’s band (Ian Ridenhour). He writes horror across genres, including poetry, short fiction, and a novel. You can see some of his work on Jamiesonridenhourwriter.com
Mr. Ridenhour visited Reese Hall last year and performed an episode of Palimpsest from the balcony for the Halloween reading.
