JCCS Will Implement New Visitation System at School

The Jasper County Charter System will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System on Monday, September 17 in all of the schools to strengthen campus safety for students and faculty.

The Raptor system will allow screening of visitors, contractors, and volunteers in each school and provide a safer environment for the students and staff.

With the new Raptor System, upon entering a school visitors will be asked to present an ID such as a driver’s license, which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. The Raptor system checks the visitor’s name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.

The Raptor System will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. Once a parent or visitor has scanned their ID at a school, you will not have to scan it on subsequent visits. The school will verify your identity and print you a visitor’s badge.

The safety of the students is the schools’ highest priority and the Raptor visitor management system allows the school to quickly identify those that may present a danger to the students.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the school safety protocols in the JCCS school district.
