Recently the cast of Jasper County High School’s upcoming spring
musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” got a look at how an experienced, professional adult cast performs the show at the Macon Little Theater when they attended on the evening of March 29 with directors Bobbi Sauls and Lianna Nix.
Students were treated to a lively rendition of the show, along with informal, impromptu comedic insights imparted to them by their older counterparts after the show. Each of the JCHS students met with his or her counterpart on the stage after the show.
Freshman Luke Vaughn visited with experienced actor Tony Kemp, who played Charlie Brown; freshman Rebekah Bell consulted with Lizamar Hamilton, “Lucy”; freshman Emma Jacobs met with older “Sally” Rachel Chabot; senior Autumn Van Houter met Grayson Williams, who played Snoopy; and senior Josh Payne visited with Ben Richardson, who played Linus. Senior Brendon Haddock (JCHS’s “Schroeder”) was unable to attend. Parent Cheryl Jacobs and local costumer Norma Mattison also attended as chaperones.
JCHS students will be performing the production Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. for the public. Tickets can be purchased in advance in the JCHS office: adults are $10 in advance; $15 at the door; JCCS students are $5 in advance, $10 at the door. The show will be in the auditorium at Jasper County High School, 14477 Hwy,. 11 N.
Two additional shows are scheduled for the Friday daytime slots prior to the weekend, during which JCHS students will give preview performances to elementary (4th/5th grades) and middle school students (6th grade).
