The news, where do you get yours? Yes, you can turn on your TV, computer, cellphone or tablet and get the national and international news 24 hours a day. But where do you go to get news about your own city and county?
There is only one place and that is this newspaper. Sure every once in a blue moon Atlanta news mentions Monticello or Jasper County, usually not positive either.
In this newspaper you can read about the good and the bad news about Jasper County, what happened at your county commission and city of Monticello meetings, crime reports, local club and church happenings, opinions and letters to the editor.

Here’s a hope for all of you that the flu bug flies by you quick. It’s not too late to get a flu shot. According to the health department where you can get a flu shot today, it ain’t over yet and some say the flu could be with us until May.
