What Did You Do With Christ—Christmas?
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be in agreed?
Matthew 11:6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of me.
I give thanks to God and to Mrs. Mudd and staff.
I have heard Jesus is the reason for the season. But I give thanks to God that Jesus comes more than the seasons. We should always give to the poor because Jesus said they will always be with us. Care for the widows and orphans.
When you went out and bought a Chris-mas tree to hang your ornaments on did you remember Jesus was crucified on a tree for our sins. When you put the star or angel on the top did you think about the wise man out in the fields guided by the star. Jesus is the bright and morning star. When you put up the lights did you remember Jesus is the light of the world.
The wrapping paper—He was wrapped in swaddling clothes. The gift that was given out was the reason for the season. Until the season comes again do the needy and poor need to wait? Jesus is a gift to mankind.
Proverbs 18:10 The godly pray for those who long to kill them. Brethen I will not have your ignorant.
What you don’t know will kill you. Proverbs 1:11 A rebel shouts in anger; a wise man holds his temper in, and cools it.
Proverbs 12:13 A wicked ruler will have a wicked aid on his staff. Rich and poor are alike in this: each depends on God for light. A king who is fair to the poor shall have a long reign. The good man knows the poor man’s rights; the godless don’t care.
Discipline your son and he will give you happiness and peace of mind. Ask Cleo’s children. Yes, I love them, but with prayer and happiness and a peace of mind. What you don’t know will kill you.
Sometimes mere words may not be heeded. I know this from our home. My daddy said don’t whip your children. But just talk to them, hit the floor and not them. One night my husband tried it. He asked one of our sons to get them a pillow. He replied, daddy I don’t feel like it. He asked again. He repeated, Oh daddy all you are going to do is hit the floor. Of course you know what happened afterwards. Mere words weren’t enough. A wise son makes his father happy, but a son who hangs around with prostitutes disgrace him. Read Proverbs 10:16-18, 29:18
Luke 8: 4-12 One day Jesus told this story to a large crowd that had gathered from many towns to hear him: A farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a foot patch where it was stepped on,and the birds came and ate it. Other seed fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. This seed began to grow but soon it withered and died for lack of moisture. Other seeds fell among the thorns that shot up and choked out the tender blades. Still other seeds fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop one hundred times as much as had been planted.
When he had said this he called out, “Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand!” What you don’t know will kill you!@ My people have died from lack of knowledge.
His disciples asked him what the story meant. He replied, “You have been permitted to understand the secrets of the kingdom of God, but I am using these stories to conceal, so that the scriptures might be fulfilled:
Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefor followers of God dear little children.
They see what I do, but they don’t really see; They hear what I say but don’t understand.
“This is the meaning of the story: The seed is God’s message. The seed that fell on the hard path repents; those who hear the message but then the devil comes and steals it—remember (snake talk) preventing them from believing and being saved. The rocky soil represents those who hear the message with joy. But like young plants in such soil, their roots don’t go very deep. They believe for a little while but they wilt when the hot winds of testing blow.
The thorny ground represents those who hear and accept the message, but it is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasure of this life and so they never grow into maturity. But the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s message, cling to it, and produce a huge harvest.
Proverbs 19:18-19 Discipline your children while there is hope. If you don’t you will ruin their lives. Short-tempered people must pay their own penalty. If you rescue them once you will have to do it again.
Matthew 7:9-11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Happy New Year—Next month, New Year Resolution, Repentance, Rewards.
