Merry Christmas!!!

Been under the weather as we Southerners like to call it, so not much spirit to muster. Days have been spent vertical, sipping hot tea, eating saltines, maybe a bite or two of roasted chicken and some beef broth.

In between napping, television was my entertainment since no one wants to talk to or be around someone who is coughing and coughing.

Some of you may have an ancient, analog, television in the “sick room” that still has ancient rabbit ear antenna and pulls in quite a few channels, three Channel 2’s, five Channel 5’s, on and on.

Most of these channels show ancient tv shows and movies, one channel only shows game shows some dating back to my childhood. Funny as they seem in this modern world, it is the commercials that sponsor these shows that have been so interesting.

Sure everyone buys online, well, so I thought, until I realized from these commercials that there are still “800” numbers and “Operators standing by” like in the old days. And the things they advertise are perfect for the senior set, apparently the survey says they are the ones watching these shows.

Lots of medical devices that would make perfect Christmas gifts for those you know afflicted with specific pains. Dr. Ho, a noted inventor physician back brace can cure back pain without surgery or drugs. It is a lovely wrap around job. It must be pretty expensive since it doesn’t cost $19.95 plus S&H. Got foot problems, got knee problems, no problem, other commercials tout cures for these.

Do you like to cook? Then there is a pan you must get. That pan cooks everything from S’Mores, to fried eggs, to a red solo cup. Nothing sticks. Acorn stair lifts, collapsible canes, and an array of accident lawyers and testimonials. What fun!

Things are looking up. Just received some good news. Santa received my letter with the list. Only a few days now.

Stay well, Merry Christmas, Monticello
