High School Has Fine Arts Night
Recently, Jasper County High School hosted its “Fine Arts Night” event at the JCHS Theater, where the band students performed four sets.
Band director Chris Savage emceed the concert portion of the event and directed the performances with his usual aplomb. The “Hurricane Breeze Steel Drum Ensemble” opened up the evening’s musical efforts with pop songs percolating in percussion rhythms, followed by the jazz band, the percussion ensemble, and the symphonic band.

Visual arts students also presented their work along the walls in a gallery display to launch the evening’s event; their works remain on display in the auditorium at the high school until the last week of school. Art teacher Peyton Proctor supervised this part of the night’s events.
