Happy Mother’s Day

This coming Sunday is set aside by the United States to celebrate mothers. Being a mother to someone does not necessarily mean the child is a natural child.

Children are raised by many others besides their natural mothers, adoptive, foster, step, grandmothers, and other relatives.

When a child is born, they come with an instruction manual that fully explains what is to be expected and how to relate to these small humans. Who doesn’t wish they had been given a copy of this book?

On a recent trip to a big box store, there was a older woman, most likely the grandmother, pushing a shopping cart with a very lively young boy who was laughing and having a great time jumping up and down like he was at a playground.

Pushing another cart along with the older woman was a younger woman with a young girl who was happily sitting in the cart. The two children could not have been more opposite, but most likely brother and sister and being raised by the same woman. Obviously a questionable paradigm.

Motherhood is definitely OJT(On the Job Training), because that instructional manual given out at birth of a child has never been written and each child is different.

Mothers are never really out of your life even when they have passed, because you will hear your mothers’ words come out of your mouth and then one day when you are putting on your coat, out of your sleeve comes your mother’s hand.
