Jamie Mitchell Is Inducted into Academy

On February 4, 2017 Dr. Jamie A. Mitchell, DMD was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honorary dental organization.

The Pierre Fauchard Academy is currently comprised of over 8,000 Fellows divided into 120 sections, 55 in the United States and another 65 in many other parts of the world, including South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

The membership is made of dentists who are among the most outstanding leaders in various fields of dentistry. Fellowship is by invitation only. Invitations are issued based on recommendation from fellow dentist. Approval is required from the section in which the candidate lives and practices.

The Pierre Fauchard Academy was established in 1936 and is named for the French dentist Pierre Fauchard who is considered the father of modern dentistry. The mission of the group is to promote the search for knowledge and to promote the ethical provision of quality dental care.

Dr. Mitchell came to Monticello in 1990, purchasing the practice of Dr. Tom Brady. The two practiced together for many years and remain close friends. Dr. Mitchell is currently the President of the Central District Dental Society of the Georgia Dental Association where he has worked passionately to protect the integrity of dentistry in Georgia. His private practice is located on W. Washington Street in Monticello and offers dental care to young and old.
