Piedmont FFA Teams Compete at FVSU
Piedmont Academy’s FFA Farm Business Management team recently placed third in the Area 3 FFA Farm Business Management Career Development event held at Ft. Valley State University on November 10.
Farm Business Management team members are (top photo, left to right) Chris McClain, Wyatt Galloway, Ashley Johnston, and Grayson Bradley. The event allows participants to develop the abilities to apply the economic principles and concepts used in analyzing farm-ranch business management decisions.
The Farm Business Management Career Development Event is sponsored by the Georgia Development Authority as a special project of the Georgia FFA Foundation.
Also, Piedmont’s FFA Environmental/Natural Resources team placed eighth in the Area 3 FFA Environmental/Natural Resources Career Development event held on the same day at Ft. Valley State University.
The Environmental/Natural Resources Career Development event allows students to demonstrate their knowledge in using a GPS system, identifying various types of wildlife, trees, and plants, as well as taking a written exam which covers ecosystems. The team was coached by FFA volunteer leader Stacy Waits.
