Happy Fall, Y’all
Whoever said that the official end to summer is Labor Day didn’t live in the South.
Someone forgot to tell the weatherman who, like a never-ending recording, says to expect highs in the 90’s every day. Just walk out of any air-conditioned building into the oven outside and you’ll know immediately summer is still with us. The first six months of 2016 were the hottest on records begun in 1880.
Labor Day, the last of the three-day weekends for most folks this year, the Last Hurrah, finish up those left over fire crackers, use the last of the propane grilling up burgers or steaks as you sit back with a big glass of “the house wine of the South,” iced tea, and celebrate your extra day when you don’t have to labor. Predictions are not good for a last beach weekend as Tropical Depression 9 makes a right turn in the Gulf.
With fall comes football and fans, good luck to our Jasper County and Piedmont Academy players. And to everyone enjoy the last days of summer of 2016 and as always Happy Fall, Y’all.
