Happy Spring To All!
Get out and enjoy our spring wildflowers that are lining the back roads of Jasper County.
You’ll see Queen Anne’s lace, black-eyed susans, and goldenrods.
With our recent blackberry winter weather, we are bound to have a bumper crop of blackberries. Our blackberry bushes have already bloomed and have some berries.
So spend a few minutes finding the South’s favorite berry as there are many blackberry bushes growing along the road side. Pick enough, maybe, for a cobbler.
Also we are getting some blueberries and raspberries, so we may get some pretty jelly as some ladies call it.
Gardenias are budding out and will smell so good. The best smelling flowers are the ones on a long vine wrapped around the back porch, Carolina jasmine.
If you plant a Carolina jasmine make sure it has plenty of room to grow and wrap around a trellis or porch.
Thank goodness we live in such a beautiful area with rolling hills, a large lake and all these wildflowers and native plants.
Happy spring to all!
