Graduation Section Set May 19

The Monticello News will produce its annual graduation section, saluting the Class of 2016, on Thursday, May 19.

Parents, grandparents and friends who want an ad saluting their special grad can submit it by tomorrow, May 6, at 5 p.m., for a discount. After that regular rates will be in effect.

Ads may be placed for whoever that favorite graduate is, whether he or she is from a local school, or is finishing college, or perhaps attends school elsewhere.

The “Salute to Graduates” will include senior pictures, ads from businesses and families, and achievements before the students make their final high school walk for graduation. Seniors who did not have the photos made by the school photographer can still be included if they bring their photo to The News office by Friday, May 13.

Jasper County High School and Shiloh Christian Academy will have graduation on Friday, May 20, and Piedmont Academy’s is Saturday, May 21.

Full coverage of those events will be included in the May 26 paper, but the graduates may be scattered to the ends of the earth by then, so the salute goes in graduation week, and we print enough sections for each graduate to receive one.

News staff will attempt to contact most of the businesses for their salutes, but to be sure you’re not left out, call us, 706-468-6511 anytime.

Advertisements range from $25 and go up to a full page with full color for $725, and every size in-between.

The News office, located at 247 West Washington Street, is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. For appointments after hours or on Saturday, call us. Ads may be submitted electronically or in person.
