Easter Miracles Still Happen

Question: Does Jesus still raise people from the dead? You bet He does. Everyday.

Every time someone responds in faith to the grace and mercy offered by Jesus and made possible because of His death on the cross for our sins and the victory over death through His resurrection, that person is raised from the dead. He or she goes from being dead in sin to being alive in Christ. Resurrected.

That’s why Jesus came, to bring life to people who are already dead.

Ephesians 2:1 points out our dilemma: “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins” (NIV). The problem is we are already spiritually dead because of our choice to rebel against God.

Thankfully, God makes a way for us to live again. Ephesians 2:4-5: “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved” (NIV). The solution is that Christ can make us alive as well.

How do we know that Jesus can do that for us? What proof do we have that He can do that work in us? The proof is in that first Easter Sunday morning. The Jesus who died to pay the penalty for our sins on the cross did not stay dead. That same Jesus came back to life and won the victory over death, hell, and the grave.

And, He offers that same victory to us. We can experience victory in our lives now as we move from being dead in our sins to being made alive in Christ. Then, we can experience victory in our forever as those who are in Christ will be raised to life eternal in the very presence of the Christ who made it all possible.

As we worship Jesus this Easter, let us fall headlong into the reality of His grace that forgives us when we come to Him in repentance. As we worship Jesus this Easter, let us celebrate the wonder of being made alive in Christ. As we worship Jesus this Easter, let us visit anew the amazement of the power of God best seen in the empty tomb.

As we worship Jesus this Easter, let us rest in the unmatched love and mercy that through faith resurrects our dead-in-sin soul. And, as we worship Jesus this Easter, let us marvel at the fact that if we are in Christ that we have been raised from the dead, too.

Are you tired of being dead? Do you want to experience the joy that being raised in Christ brings?

Do you want to experience abundant life on this earth (see John 10:10)? Do you want to experience eternal life in heaven (see John 3:16)? Then come to the resurrected Christ and let Him raise you from the dead. After all, Jesus still raises people from the dead. Have a wonderful, worship-filled Easter!
