Students Compete at FBLA Conference
Jasper County High School (JCHS) freshman Ciara Christopher placed sixth in the Sales Presentation event at the Georgia State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Conference held last week in Athens.
As part of her event, Miss Christopher chose to develop and present a sales pitch for True Vision products. She currently works with her parents as an associate with True Vision. During her presentation, she shared the uses and benefits of the products and demonstrated how they work. She advanced to final round of the competition where she took sixth place. Miss Christopher also competed in the Business Law event.
Senior Caleb Usry placed 12th in the Agribusiness event along with Chad Cain and Garrett Scroggs, who also competed in Agribusiness.
Others competing for the JCHS chapter were Nikki Dougherty, Intro to Parliamentary Procedure and Intro to Business; Tyler Phillips, Client Service; Ryan Nelson and Cole Usry, Introduction to Business Presentation; Julius Matchett, Computer Problem Solving; Autumn Denonn, Economics; Evan Newton, Introduction to Financial Math; and Hunter Duke, Introduction to Information Technology.
While in Athens for the two-day conference, the local students participated in various leadership workshops to help them prepare for their future. The local group was accompanied by advisers Mrs. Johnnie Sue Moore and Mrs. Amy Scroggs, as well as assistant principal and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Director Buddy Cain.
