JCMS FLBA Competes at Region
On Monday, Jan. 11, 32 Jasper County Middle School students competed in the Future Business Leaders of America Region Leadership Conference at Jasper County High School.
The students were tested on their knowledge of various business topics and competed against students from nine other counties in the region.
First place winners included Wyatt Currie in Business Concepts, Audrey Loggins in Career Exploration, Morgan Patterson in FBLA Concepts, Aubrey Crowe in Invention Convention, Emma Jacobs in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts and Public Speaking, and Warren Lynwood in Personal Financial Concepts.
Second place went to Taylor Bloodworth for Business Concepts, Emily Turner for FBLA Concepts, Gracie Clendenin for Business Communication, and Wyatt Currie for Marketing Concepts.
The following students placed third: Kalyn McMichael for Business Concepts, Taylor Bloodworth for Career Exploration, Michael Clendenin for Marketing Concepts, and Kendall Candler for Social Media Concepts.
Fourth place winners were Warren Lynwood in Business Spelling, Rylee Huff in Career Exploration, Josephine Fowler in Computer Concepts, Kendall Candler in FBLA Concepts, and Brianna Ledford in Business Communication.
Fifth place winners were Jenna Parrish in Business Concepts, Cali Smith in Career Exploration, Claire Taylor in Computer Concepts, Catelaine Cook in Business Communication and Aryn Christopher in Internet Concepts and Social Media Concepts.
Special recognition goes to those placing in two categories: Emma Jacobs (both first place), Wyatt Currie, Taylor Bloodworth, Warren Lynwood, Kendall Candler, and Aryn Christopher. Other participants were Jasmine Christian, Kate Robinson, Colby Williams, Scout Behling, Ashton Mooney, Julia Proctor, Allie Alexander, Jackson Taylor, Ashton Whitener, Samyah Harris, and Baylee Evans.
The students were accompanied by advisor, Mary Tumlin and chaperones, Hope Cook, Andrea Crowe, and Mandie Behling. In addition to individual awards, JCMS was awarded the Largest Local Chapter Membership in region 12. More accomplishments are expected from FBLA members participating in the state conference on February 23 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.
