Ooops!

It seems we had an awful lot of errors in last week’s paper.

I’ve long said everyone makes mistakes, but ours are there in black and white for all to see, and there is no erasing them.

After the paper was sent to the printer last week, I realized two or three things that I had left out that I meant to include. It’s such a bad feeling.

For one, I guess everyone has now adjusted to Eastern Standard Time. I really meant to put something in the paper about time changing Sunday. But, alas, I did not. And, I realized it soon after it was sent to the printer.

And, there were other things, which escape me right now.

But somehow our Hillsboro mail bag got lost. The whole bag. So people in Hillsboro did not get a paper until Saturday, after we hand-addressed each one on Friday when we realized they didn’t turn up.

We often blame the post office for mailing problems, but that one was ours. We apologize.

A story on the front page of today’s paper broke before the paper was back from the printer last week. Talk about timing. But, that was out of my control.

Please, when you see an error, I don’t mind if you point it out, but remember, we’re only human.

And if we leave something out, it may be held til next week…or it may be lost. Don’t hesitate to contact us.

I hope everyone enjoys this week’s paper. It’s chock full of information when you take in all 24 pages of the Deer Festival section and the 12 pages in the regular paper. As chair of the COC, I’m very excited about the Deer Festival Saturday, and hope the weather forecast improves as we get closer.
