Schools To Host Title 1 Meetings

Parents, guardians, and community stakeholders are invited to attend the Title 1 annual meeting held at each Jasper County school.

This meeting is the opportunity to learn about the Title 1 program and the opportunities offered through this federal program. Some of the topics that will be discussed are: What is a Title 1 school? How does our school spend Title 1 money? What opportunities does the school provide for parent involvement?

Schools and their meeting dates include:

•Jasper County Primary School on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 6-7 p.m., in the media center.

•Washington Park Elementary School on Friday, Oct. 2, from 6-7 p.m, in the cafeteria.

•Jasper County Middle School on September 8, from 6-7 p.m., in “C” Building, conference room #23.

•Jasper County High School on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 6-7 p.m., in the commons area.

Also, each school houses a Parent Resource Center which provides helpful brochures and computer/internet access for the parents. The centers are open during regular school day hours and copies of all of the schools’ Title 1 Parent Involvement Plans and School Parent Compacts are also found there. Locations include:

•Jasper County Primary School: Front Office

•Washington Park Elementary School: Fifth Grade Hall

•Jasper County Middle School: Check In/Check Out Office

•Jasper County High School: Attendance Office

All parents, guardians, and stakeholders are encouraged to take an active part in the education of Jasper County students.
