The Monticello News Offices

We had a good turnout for our open house last Thursday, but many of you did not make it. Maybe you’re not interested, but for those who are, I will devote space here for the next few weeks showing you our offices.

I’m starting with my office. When you come in the front door of our new home at 247 West Washington Street, you will see a reception window directly in front of you. But a few steps down the hall to the right is my office. Many of us ate breakfast and/or lunch in here many a time when it was the Tillman House Restaurant.

My desk sits in the middle of the floor. To the right of the door is Hannah’s work station. She is only part-time, so she doesn’t need a lot of room.

Our walls are a deep coral, my favorite color. There are two windows behind me, and one behind Hannah. The photos on the front page from the open house capture the color of my office.

To my right is a long library table which held junk before the open house, food at the open house, and right now is empty (which means it’s begging to have stuff set on it).

The floors, as they are throughout the building are original wood floors. I’m out of space now, so I will continue next week with a photo of Susan Jacobs at her desk and a description of her office.
