Eighth Graders Can Earn High School Credit

Jasper County High School (JCHS) will host a high school course credit meeting for upcoming eighth grade students and their families on Thursday, May 14 from 6-7 p.m. in Jasper County Middle School (JCMS) cafeteria.

All eighth grade students will have the opportunity to earn high school credit prior to leaving JCMS at the end of the 2015-16 school year.

This meeting will explain the purpose of the endeavor between the middle and high school. The courses being offered will be explained in detail. Students and families will have an opportunity to rank order their course options. The schedule for the students will be explained for the school year. Information will also be provided about how this can benefit future college and career plans for students. A preview of high school will be given as students prepare for their last year of middle school.

A second meeting will be held on Thursday, May 21 from noon until 1 p.m.in the cafeteria for those unable to attend the evening meeting.
