Art & Talent Showcase Set

Applications are now available for the Kiwanis Art Showcase and Les Steele Talent Show scheduled for Friday, March 20, at 6 p.m. at the Jasper County High School auditorium, 14477 Hwy. 11 north, Monticello.

All art, music, dance, theater, gymnastic and other types of acts are encouraged to enter. Applications are available now at the front office of each local school or from the art and music teachers.

They are also available at both local banks, and the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce office, 119 Washington St., on the Square.

A mandatory rehearsal will be held on Thursday, March 19, before the show on Friday.

The winning art and musical acts in grades 9-12 will advance to the state competition on April 25 and compete for up to $3,500 in college scholarships.
