JCMS Club Brings Home Bronze
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the local chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) from Jasper County Middle School attended the State Leadership Conference at the Perry Fair Grounds in Perry.
JCMS was awarded Bronze Chapter of the Year and was recognized for Local Activities Report, Enterprise Day Project, and Community Service Project. Along with the chapter recognitions, four students placed in the top 10 out of 1,250 competitors from across the state in various business categories.
Ciara Christopher was named Outstanding Middle Level Member and eighth in Keyboarding Applications. Emma Jacobs placed ninth for creating a chapter scrapbook, Kendall Candler placed seventh in Keyboarding Applications, and Will Parker placed sixth in Business Concepts.
Other students who participated in the competition were Mackenzie Abbott, Riley Burton, Emily Rose Cavender, Wyatt Currie, Hunter Duke, Baylee Evans, Jeffrey Fowler, Kira Gaver, Megan Haddock, Rylee Huff, Avery Jacobs, Tayloir Lawrence, Audrey Loggins, Gavriel McClain, Evan Newton, LaShawnna Norwood, Jacob Parrish, Morgan Patterson, Tyler Phillips, Kaitlyn Wilbanks, Kaitlyn Pope, Claire Taylor, and Christillie Wood. The students were accompanied by Adviser Mary Tumlin; chaperone, Cheryl Jacobs; and bus driver, Dale Massey.
