Super Bowl

Once again we are being sucked into the hype of the Super Bowl. This year is no exception by using a old tried and true method.

If you ain’t got a real story, hype one up. How many hours have we now heard about under inflated footballs? Up until this past week, who even knew outside of official ball handlers that each football should contain 12.5 to 13.5 pounds of air.

This year, some well-suited accounting firm executives probably will escort the properly pumped up footballs out to the players, instead of the regular zebra stripe shirted referees.

Who can remember who even played last year’s game, but Super Bowl half-time shows are long remembered.

Most notably in 1993 when Michael Jackson stood motionless and not singing for a full 90 seconds as the crowd booed and laughed at his shenanigans until he began to “Moon Walk” and sing. Then, he had them in the palm of his sequined-gloved hand.

Or the year Prince wowed us with his oh so appropriate “Purple Rain” in the pouring rain.

And, yes, the famous commercials during the Super Bowl advertising chips to beer are always a crowd favorite, the crowd at home. Don’t you just love those Clydesdales? Tear Tear

Back to the game, may the best team win, pass the chips and salsa, please.
