HOSA Students Head to State
Several Jasper County High School students will be advancing to the HOSA State Competition by virtue of their top 10 finishes at their region competition.
First place winners included Jace DeGarmo in Human Growth and Development, Morgan Studdard in Home Health Aide, Cori Griggs in Medical Assisting, Briana Boyer in Nursing Assisting and the team of Taylor Edwards, Kellie Evans, Seth Pettis, and Kirsten Pettis for Creative Problem Solving.
Students who will also advance include the team of Ashley DeVane, Anna Parker, and Sara Saldana for their third place finish in Creative Problem Solving, Kimmy Morgan for her third place finish in Nursing Assisting, Madison Fish for her fourth place finish in Biomedical Laboratory, Austin Norwood for his fifth place finish in Biomedical Laboratory and Samantha Johnson for her sixth place finish in Nursing Assisting.
Patti Cole serves as the adviser for HOSA: Future Health Professionals. A registered nurse, Ms. Cole is the healthcare science instructor at JCHS and is also in charge of the CNA class.
She said, “I am so proud of all of these students and their accomplishments.”
The State Leadership Conference will be held at The Classic Center in Athens March 12-14.
