Tis the Season…for Shopping
Shopping, it’s the season for shopping and buying too. Now we no longer have to leave home to do our shopping, just turn on the television. There are a kbillion shopping channels—channels only for jewelry, coins, makeup, and channels for just about everything else hosted by hosts who seem to know anything about everything, 24 hours a day.
If you can’t find it on television, not to worry, just go on the internet to buy anything, anytime. There’s just one big problem. From that moment on, those worrisome cookies that are not the kind you eat will haunt you each and every time you trip the fantastic on your keyboard.
Of course, the old favorite is the catalog. Once you get a catalog from a company, you will continue to receive said catalog for the rest of your life. Even if you get the dire warning from the catalog company that this will be the last time you receive the catalog, they will continue to send you one.
But who doesn’t enjoy shopping in a real store? Apparently a lot of folks enjoy the experience as we can see most every evening on the news. Professional shoppers know how to score the best parking spot without injury. These shoppers come prepared with apps on their cellphones to compare prices. Being able to see and pickup items that you are considering for purchase gives one a sense of security.
With other forms of shopping, you are at the mercy of the warehouse worker who might misread the items number. You ordered item 23676127622-b and received 23676127623-a, oops. Instead of getting the checkered flannel shirt for the hubby, you received the holiday ham gift wrapped.
Millions of folks do their shopping without going past the check out line. They opt for the easiest shopping ever by buying gift cards and then leave it up to the receiver to do the shopping.
Countdown only 20 shopping days left. Make it easy on yourself, shop locally, support our businesses in Jasper County!
